For a relatively new technology, I’m amazed at the amount of consumer education that is already happening around cloud services. We can thank blue chip companies like Apple, Google, and Amazon for creating the conditions that is now leading to cloud concepts entering the mainstream and consumers getting educated about it as a result.

IDC: Cloud Services Investment to Grow 27.6% Per Year through 2015

IT cloud services will expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27.6%, from $21.5 billion in 2010 to $72.9 billion in 2015, market research firm IDC forecasts. Having emerged as the critical, core infrastructure necessary to realize convergence, Cloud computing's impact will reach far beyond IT spending, however, IDC notes.

Apple's iCloud May Raise Visibility, Acceptance of Cloud Services
